Description

Traffic safety on the Hanford Site has always been a top priority for the Department of Energy and Hanford contractors. The goal of Hanford Mission Integration Solutions Traffic Safety and the Sitewide Traffic Safety Committee is to reinforce the importance of safe driving behaviors on our roads and in our parking lots by focusing on three primary elements of traffic safety: education, enforcement and engineering, with a heavy focus on educating the workforce. By creating consistency among DOE and Hanford contractors, this has enhanced a culture of safety on our roads, encouraged a mentality to look out for one another on our commute to and from work, and brought to light areas of potential improvement. The Hanford Site Traffic Safety poster board will focus on activities, campaigns and improvements made to progress and enhance traffic safety as well as the traffic safety culture on the Hanford Site. We hope to present a visual recap of the hard work accomplished by the Hanford Site Traffic Safety Committee and Hanford workers to encourage a culture of change on our roads. (authors)
