Some recent results concerning quasi-periodic solutions for a nonlinear string equation
Description
For a nonlinear string equation on a bounded interval the existence of countable many families of real analytic quasi-periodic solutions is shown which in addition form Cantor manifolds through the origin. The proof applies Birkhoff normal form theory and an infinite-dimensional extension of KAM theory to the Hamiltonian of the nonlinear string equation. (author)
