Infrared diagnostic techniques as applied to the laser fusion program are discussed. No attempt is made to make a complete infrared detector survey, but rather devices and systems that have satisfied the particular requirements of the fusion program are discussed and some of the limitations of these methods and directions for future development are indicated.
