ROSTCOS: PC-based system for robust adaptive process control

  • 1. Automation ampersand Control Technologies, Inc., St. Louis, MO (United States)

Description

The Robust Self-Tuning Control System (ROSTCOS) for design and implementation of multiloop adaptive controllers is presented. ROSTCOS has a device independent interface (I/O files) and can be used as a part of an integrated process control system. It contains functional procedures for a plant model estimation, control design and calculation, as well as tools for the run time system configuration and maintenance. ROSTCOS is capable of dealing with the process time-varying parameters and forgetting and model-based predictor functional blocks. Further tools for robustness, such as signal filtering, normalization, and control design supervision are also provided
