New type of detector of the radon with active charcoal

Description
In this paper, there is described a new type of detector of the radon. This detector works on the basis of active coal. Radon enters into the volume of the detector from all sides across all surface of the detector. The encapsulation of the detector is solved with high-porous paper mache, where is closed the accurate amount of the active coal. The dimensions of the detector are selected so that the used volume of the semiconductor detector was optimal at gamma-spectrometric analysis of sorbed detector. The sorption volume in which is trapped the radon is circa 11 cm3. It is possible to activate the detection tablet again after gamma-spectrometric analysis. The reproducibility of the detection is good. The lower limit of the volume activity of the radon is some tens of Bq dm-3. The maximal amount of the cycles (exposure - measurement) for the time being was not determined. After calibration this radon dosemeter could be used for short-time measurements of the volume activity of the radon in a stay and working spaces as well as for the measurement of the soil radon
Abstract (Slovak)
V tejto praci je opisany novy typ detektora radonu, ktory pracuje na baze aktivneho uhlia. Radon vstupuje do objemu detektora zo vsetkych stran cez cely povrch detektora. Zapuzdrenie detektora je riesene vysokoporeznou papierovinou, v ktorej je uzavrete presne mnozstvo aktivneho uhlia. Rozmery detektora su volene tak, aby co najlepsie vyuzivali objem polovodicoveho detektora pri gamaspektrometrickej analyze nasorbovaneho detektora. Sorpcny objem, v ktorom je zachytavany radon je asi 11 cm3. Po gamaspektrometrickej analyze je mozne detekcnu tabletku opat aktivovat. Reprodukcnost detekcie je dobra. Spodna hranica objemovej aktivity radonu je niekolko desiatok Bg dm-3. Maximalny pocet cyklov (expozicia - meranie) zatial nebol stanoveny. Po kalibracii by tento radonovy dozimeter mohol sluzit na kratkodobe merania objemovej aktivity radonu v pobytovych a pracovnych priestoroch ako aj na meranie podneho radonuFiles
