Description
Two sediment trap lines were deployed in NESTOR basins (SE. Ionian Sea, E. Mediterranean) NESTOR 5.2 (21o07.965E, 36o33.180N) and NESTOR 4.5 (21o28.925E, 36o32.955N) with one and five sets of sediment trap/current meter, respectively. All traps were synchronized to collect particles over 1 or 2-week periods. The experiment consisted of six individual deployments covering the period from 18/February/2006 to 15/October/2008. Generally, time-weighted mean mass fluxes slightly decreased with depth and the low values confirm the oligotrophic character of the study area.
