Excitation of longitudinal oscillations in high-current elecron beam for ion collective acceleration
Description
A linear accelerator, where excitation of a high-frequency accelerating field and transverse ion stability are provided by an electron beam, injected into the resonator structure coaxially with accelerated ions, is considered. To increase acceleration efficiency self-excitation of oscillations in the beam-double up to values close to the limiting one is stidied. 6 refs
