On the role of fluctuations in Freedericksz transition dynamics in an oscillating magnetic field

Description

A regular theory of the dynamics of Freedericksz transition in an oscillating magnetic field for the entire frequency range of magnetic field variation is developed. Consideration is carried out in the case of pure T-deformation. The time of response of the liquid crystal molecules on the external influence is shown to depend not only on the amplitude, but also on the frequency of the magnetic field. 9 refs
