Proposed Derived Limits for surface contamination of transport packages
Description
A brief article summarises the methods used in the re-assessment of derived limits (DL) for surface contamination of transport packages specified in the 1961 IAEA Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material. A proposed set of limits for non-fixed contamination on transport packages which are specified in the 1985 IAEA Regulations is presented. Proposed classifications of radionuclides for controlling non-fixed contamination on the surfaces of both small and large transport packages are also given. (U.K.)
