Performance of a large area neutron multiplicity detector for studying neutron deficient isotopes
- 1. Univ. of Manchester, England
Description
This paper describes an experimental method which permits γ ray spectroscopic studies of weakly produced isotopes through the measurement of the multiplicity of evaporated particles in coincidence with each γ ray. It is efficient, flexible and relatively inexpensive. Experiments have been performed at Brookhaven and Daresbury laboratories to study nuclei in the neutron deficient regions with Aapprox.80, Aapprox.104 and Aapprox.130. More than twenty previously unstudied isotopes have been identified
