K+-meson interaction with 12C and 40Ca nuclei in optical model

Description
The differential cross sections of K+-meson elastic scattering on the 12C and 40Ca nuclei at initial momentum of 0.8 GeV/c are calculated in the framework of the optical model for various forms of the potential and nuclear matter distributions ρn and ρp. Total kaon interaction cross sections with 12C are as well evaluated in the initial momentum interval up to 1.5 GeV/c. The results are compared with those reported by other authors and with experiments. Dependence of the calculation results upon the choice of K+N-amplitude parametrization and of varios parameters of the potential and of the function of nucleon density ρ(r) is analyzed. The importance of taking into account the difference of ρp(r) from nuclear charge distribution is pointed out
