Portability aspects of MODULA-2
- 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva (Switzerland)
Description
MODULA-2 is used as the implementation language for the SPS/LEP control system. Both high and low level coding are written in this language. Packages range from simple device drivers through small O/S kernels to complex string handling applications in an interpreter. The MODULA-2 source code was ported and compiled onto different types of hardware and support environments. The MODULA-2 language executable coding depends on a small runtime system while all its O/S interactions are provided through PROCEDUREs written in MODULA-2. The transport of the MODULA-2 coding involved the port of these and other O/S primitives. (Auth.)
