Defect clusters in high-energy ion-irradiated Ni and dilute Ni alloys investigated by diffuse X-ray scattering
Description
Pure Ni and dilute Ni-Cu and Ni-Fe alloys were irradiated at 30 K with 150 MeV phosphorus ions up to doses of 1.6x1014 and 4.1x1014 ions/cm2. The resulting defect structures were studied at room temperature using diffuse X-ray scattering (DXS) methods. The DXS experiments showed that both interstitial and vacancy dislocation loops coexisted in pure Ni and alloys. The size distribution of dislocation loops was analyzed by fitting the theoretical DXS intensities of the dislocation loops to the experimental ones
