Asymptotic theory for widths of the Penning process with ion excitation

Description

Penning process with ion excitation A*+B→A+B+*+e- was investigated. Expressions for exponentially decreasing partial widths of quasimolecule therms, dictating the process, were obtained in the framework of asymptotic theory. Results of numerical calculation of parameters of partial widths, partial and total cross sections for the penning process in He(23S)-Cd, Zn systems are presented. Correlation with experimental data was conducted
