Description
In chest trauma, a routine chest film, preferably in the lateral as well as the frontal projection, is the basic part of the work-up. Occasionally valuable additional methods are fluoroscopy, tomography, bronchography, contrast studies of the GI Tract and angiography and angiocardiography. In 679 chest trauma patients, traffic accidents and falls were the main reason for the trauma. There were 248 fractures; then - in order of frequency - hemopneumothorax (76), lung contusion (58), subcutaneous emphysema (33) cardiac (16) and vascular trauma (12) and damage to other organs. While 20-30% mistakes are made in diagnosing rib fractures in acute trauma, there is high accuracy in the diagnosis of the other injuries. Abstract (German)
Basisdiagnostik beim Thoraxtrauma ist die Uebersichtsaufnahme, moeglichst in 2 Ebenen. Sie kann ergaenzt werden mittels Durchleuchtung, Tomographie, Bronchographie, Kontrastdarstellung des Magendarmtraktes sowie der Angio- und Angiokardiographie. Ursache von 679 Thoraxtraumen waren in erster Linie der Strassenverkehrsunfall und Sturzverletzungen. Insgesamt wurden 248 Frakturen nachgewiesen, es folgen Haematopneumothorax (76), Lungenkontusion (58) und Hautemphysem (33) sowie Herz- (16) und Gefaessverletzungen (12) sowie andere Organlaesionen. Waehrend bei der Erkennung von Rippenfrakturen im Unfallbild mit einer Fehlerquote von 20-30% gerechnet werden muss, sind die uebrigen Verletzungen mit einem hohen Mass an diagnostischer Treffsicherheit zu erfassen.
