Due to well known serotonine radioprotective activity and because of many metabolism disturbances such as this of aminoacids after severe total irradiation, change in 5OH indolacetic acid urinary elimination has been followed after irradiation. 5HIAA is quantitatively the most important tryptophan catabolic product

Abstract (French)

En raison de l'activite radioprotectrice bien connue de la serotonine et du fait de la perturbation de nombreux metabolismes, dont celui des acides amines, a la suite d'une irradiation globale severe, on a suivi, apres irradiation, l'evolution de l'elimination urinaire de l'acide 5OH indolacetique (5HIAA) qui est, quantitativement, le catabolite le plus important du tryptophane
