Kinetics of radiation-induced postpolymerization of trioxane in the solid state

Description
The kinetics of radiation-induced polymerization of trioxane in the solid state has been studied by several investigators. The published data show considerable anomalies and difference regarding the mechanism of this polymerization. In the present investigations on postirradiation polymerization of solid trioxane, the yields, initial rate constant, and the energy of activation were determined for the postpolymerization at 45-550C. The possibility that this polymerization follows the postulates of one or the other solid-state reaction kinetics was also considered. It was interesting to examine the kinetics of applying the Avrami model
