Description
Polycrystalline samples of La0.67Ca0.33Mn1-xFexO3; x = 0.1, 0.11, and 0.12, were prepared by solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction, Moessbauer and electrical resistance measurements have been carried out. Moessbauer paramagnetic spectra of La0.67Ca0.33Mn1-xFexO3 split into two doublets. Both doublets are due to Fe+3 ions. Metal-to-insulator transition and colossal magnetoresistance have been observed. The x = 0.1 sample shows more than 96% negative colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) below 77 K and the x = 0.12 sample shows nearly 85% negative CMR below 84 K at 6 Tesla applied magnetic field.
