Magnetic ordering in the TbNi5 hexagonal compound
Description
The magnetic properties of the hexagonal compound TbNi5 have been studied at low magnetic fields. The thermal dependence of the AC susceptibility and of the magnetization as well as the field dependence of the AC susceptibility of a TbNi5 single crystal show that it is ferromagnetic for fields greater than Hc=450 Oe. When the DC field is smaller than Hc we observed a magnetic transition at 16.5 K. From our results we propose a helimagnetic behavior of TbNi5 in the temperature range 16.5-23.5 K
