Characterisation of the light pulses of a cavity dumped dye laser pumped by a cw mode-locked and q-switched Nd:YAG laser

Description

The frequency doubled pulses (of 532 nm) obtained, with the help of a KTP crystal, from those delivered by either a continuous wave mode-locked (100 MHz) or mode-locked Q-switched (0-1 KHz) Nd: YAG laser, are analyzed by means of a streak camera, operating in synchroscan or triggered mode. In the step-by-step measurements the pulse stability, concerning form and amplitude, is shown. In addition, measurements effectuated with synchronously pumped and cavity dumped dye laser (Rhodamine 6G), controlled by a Pockels cell, allows the obtention of stable and reproducible single pulses of 30 ps duration, 10 μJ energy and 500Hz frequency

Abstract (French)

Les impulsions 532 nm obtenues par doublage, a l'aide d'un cristal de KTP, de celles delivrees par un laser Nd: YAG continu a modes couples (100 MHz), ou a modes couples et declenche (0-1 KHz) sont analysees au moyen d'une camera a balayage de fente fonctionnant en regime sinusoidal ou declenche. Des mesures effectuees au coup par coup demontrent une excellente stabilite en forme et en amplitude de ces impulsions. L'adjonction d'un laser a colorant (Rhodamine 6 G) muni d'un dispositif de decharge de cavite commande par une cellule de Pockels, permet d'obtenir avec une excellente reproductibilite des impulsions de durees d'emission 30 ps, d'energie 10 μ J et de frequence de repetition 500 Hz
