Measurement of the betatron oscillation frequency in the Booster by the RF knock-out method
Description
Betatron oscillation frequency and the spread in the Booster have been measured by RF knock-out method. The value is in a good agreement with the value by the Fourier analysis method and only slightly different from the one calculated with the data of the field measurement. This has given an assurance to the profile parameter obtained by the field measurement. The deviation of the betatron frequency from the design value and the change of the value at high magnetic field due to saturation effect are well explained with the profile parameter. The operation point on the necktie diagram run across the third resonance line 3νsub(z)=7 at B = 9.0 kG, where a significant beam loss has been observed. Present status of the investigation of the beam loss is described. (auth.)
