Description
The results of development of human radiation spectrometers (HRS) intended for use in the systems of radiation control for the processes with open radioactive substances are presented. Performances of modern HRS are given, namely for screening protection and gamma detectors. An analysis of different versions of geometries of HRS measurements shows that the method of longitudinal scanning by four detectors is optimal, two of the detectors being located over and the other two under the man under examination. As a result of applying the HRS for control of the operating staff of nuclear reactors it has been concluded that: 1) the internal contamination of personnel is low, and, if it is detected at all, it does not exceed hyndredth fractions of maximum permissible doses; 2) among γ-emitters detected in organisms of the operating workers dominates 60Co, and not fragment radionuclides
