Solar-terrestrial physics: problems and prospects

A brief report on a plenary meeting of the Scientific Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences, devoted to the problem of Physics of solar-terrestrial links, is presented. Fundamental problems, topic and tasks of solar-terrestrial physics, peculiarities of processes in the Sun-Earth system, methods and the main investigation results, prospects of solar-terrestrial physics development are discussed
