Reduction of nickel monooxide with natural gas under electric-arc melting
Description
Results of reduction melting of nickel monooxide in electric-arc furnace of direct current, when conversed natural gas is supplied together with raw material directly to the arc, are presented. A noticeable effect of natural gas consumption on the character of the process with single and continuous loading of raw material is shown. It is ascertained that the degree and intensity of NiO reduction depend considerably on stoichiometric excess of reducing agent and electric power consumed; the maximum rates are ensured during continuous loading of raw material
