Description
Full-text: Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is an electrical appliance that provides emergency power supply to the appliance when the main power supply fails. This UPS device is different from a power or emergency or power generator (Gensets) system as it provides instant protection by supplying energy stored in the battery. The ability of the UPS to supply power is short-lived depending on the capacity of the battery that the battery can store and the load connected to the UPS equipment. This emergency power supply is sufficient until the power supply from the generator (Gensets) is received or the switch off of the equipment connected to the UPS. In addition, UPS also acts as a tool to protect electrical equipment from disturbance caused by major power supplies such as surge, surge voltage, sag (pulse), impulse and so on. (author)
