Description

It is precisely due to collisions that plasma is able to actively absorb HF field energy and pulse under effect of HF fields. This absorption leads to occurrence of ponderomotive forces which can effectively improve the collisional plasma confinement in magnetic mirrors allowing thus to increase its density and temperature in open traps. A possibility of plasma profile control in tokamak impurity removal, auxilliary plasma heating and longitudinal current sustainment are connected with HF field. Rotating dipole and quadrupole were used in experiments. Measurements were conducted in continuous discharge regime. Typical electron temperature values made up several electron-volts, mean charged particle presented reflecting azimuthal drive current interaction with axial magnetic field, illustrate the possibility of plasma density control in cylindric and toroidal chambers as well as in plasma jets
