Crystal field of Am3+ ion in the octahedral AmCl63- complex
Description
Absorption spectra of AmCl63- have been obtained at liquid helium temperature. The positions of sublevels for the Am3+ ion (f6 configuration) have been calculated in the range from 0 to 28,000 cm-1. The crystal field parameters B04 = 4395 and B06 = 55 (cm-1) have been derived. On the basis of the calculations, optical transitions observed in the absorption spectra of the crystal have been assigned
