Description

The properties of 176Lu as a cosmos-chronometer and a cosmos-thermometer have been studied by the Coulomb excitation technique combined with the recoil method. As expected, the results show that this isotope can not be a reliable cosmos-chronometer. Furthermore it seems that its synthesis occurs for temperatures between 2.35 and 3.6 108 K. The identification of the excitation levels is not easy because of their weak transition probability
