Description

The mechanisms of desorption phenomena of solids under laser irradiation exploit defects and defect processes. This paper surveys the optical damages of ionic crystals and electronically-stimulated desorption both in ionic crystals and GaP. Their properties in relation to such mechanisms are summarized.
