Technique for measurement of motion velocity nonuniformity in the Moessbauer spectrometers

  • 1. Sofia Univ. (Bulgaria)

Description

A method of speed constancy control in the Moessbauer spectrometer is considered. A resonance scintillation detector or the Geiger-Mueller resonance counter can be used to control speed within a working stroke. A vibrator speed is selected in the middle of a resonance curve slope. The whole working stroke of the vibrator is divided into 100 small regions. Pulses of the resonance detector are delivered into a multichannel analyzer. The number of pulses in the channels is close to equal provided a vibrator speed in all the regions is the same one. In case the vibrator speed exceeds the average one this leads to a drop of count in the channels corresponding to this region. The method suggested makes it possible to check the Moessbauer equipment as well as to measure deviations of a spectrometer speed irrespective of their origin
