Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation following preparation with TBI+BUS+CPM for non-lymphocytic leukemia

Description
Seventy-three patients with non-lymphocytic leukemia were treated with transplantation during 15 years. They received HSCT with pretransplant conditioning regimen included 10 Gy of total body irradiation (TBI), 8 mg/kg of busulfan (BUS), and 120 mg/kg of cyclophosphamide (CPM). Disease distribution was follows; acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)/chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)/myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)=30/29/14; standard risk/high risk=37/36. Sixteen patients failured, but 6 of them were salvaged. 10 were died of leukemia, 20 were complications (interstitial pneumonitis (IP) 7, graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) 3, et al). 5y-OS was 56.6% (standard 71.0%, high 41.9%). Acute and chronic GvHD were clinically controllable. This strategy was especially excellent in high-risk leukemia. (author)
