Device for body movement for inspection and repairs of reactor pressure vessel

Creators

Description

A device claimed in CS patent document 243933 is designed for providing sliding and revolving movement of bodies used for reactor pressure vessel maintenance and repair. It consists of a movement screw and a gear nut pivoted in two axial bearings. Fitted in between them is a segment which is part of an electromagnetic clutch and can be fixed relative to the baseplate. The segment nose engages a groove in the movement screw. The advantage of the new design consists in that the lifting and revolving mechanism is integral, thus significantly reducing the number of moving parts and eliminating complex manufacture of large-size gears and bearings.
