Formation of polyvanadates with mixed oxidation state of vanadium in the MVO3-VOSO4-H2O (M=Li, Na, K) systems

Description
Interaction in MVO3-VOSO4-H2O (M=Li, Na, K) systems is studied by the method of isomolar series at 22 deg C in air atmosphere. It is found by the methods of chemical analysis, IR spectroscopy and ion exchange that depending on the initial ratio of reacting agent concentrations the following polyvanadates are formed: in the pHrange 6.3-5.8 K2V3O8; NaxVy4+V10-y5+OmxnH2O (x ≤4, y ≥ 1.5); K2V6O16; at pH ∼ 2.0 KVy4+V5-y5+xO13-0.5yxnH2O (y ≤ 0.5); Mx(VO)zHtx(Vy4+V12-y5+Om)xnH2O (3>x+2+t ≥ 2, y ≤ 2)
