Culture of insect tissues
Description
Several aspects are discussed related to the behavior of politenic chromosomes from Rhyncosciara salivary glands kept in culture during different periods of time, without interference of insect hormones. Nucleic acid-and protein synthesis in isolated nuclei and chromosomes are also investigated. Autoradiographic techniques and radioactive precursors for nucleic acids and proteins are used in the research. (M.A.)

Discutem-se varios aspectos relativos ao comportamento de cromossomas politenicos de Rhyncosciara provenientes de glandulas salivares mantidas 'in vitro' por diferentes periodos de tempo, sem a intervencao de hormonios de insetos. Estuda-se ainda a sintese de acidos nucleicos e proteinas em nucleos e em cromossomas isolados mantidos em cultura. Utilizam-se nas investigacoes tecnicas autorradiograficas e precursores radioativos de acidos nucleicos e proteinas. (M.A.)Additional details
