Effect of the solar wind velocity and the interplanetary magnetic field variability on the intensity of mid-latitude Pc3-4

Description

Effect of solar wind (SW) velocity and interplanetary magnetic field variability on intensity of mid-latitude Pc 3-4 is discussed. Joint behaviour of Pc 3-4 amplitudes by the data of Boroch observatory and SW velocity for November 1973 is presented. Dependence of Pc 3-4 amplitude on SW velocity is detected. It is shown that Pc 3-4 amplitudes well correlate with interplanetary magnetic field variability. Relations between Pc 3-4 amplitude and SW velocity confirm Gul'el'mi theory on Pc 3-4 generation in the solar wind
