Procedure for suppression of interference from time fluctuating neutron flux noise when determining the axial distribution of the effect in an operating boiler reactor core

Description

The neutron flux noises are co-registered by means of permanently installed LPRM (local power range monitor) instrumentation in probe tubes simultaneously with the TIP (travelling inpile probe) measurings which take place in the same probe tube. The co-registered LPRM-signals are utilized in order to reconstruct the noise in the TIP-detector signals. The reconstructed TIP-noises are utilized to suppress the noise in the registered TIP-signals by subtraction. Thus the precision is improved when measuring the axial effect profile in the reactor core. (L.F.)
