Nuclear quadrupole and hexadecapole interactions in crystals of lutetium compounds

Description

Experimental proof of existence of nuclear hexadecapole interactions is obtained for the first time in lutetium compound crystals. 175Lu nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) spectra were studied at 77 K using a pulsed NQR spectrometer. Methods of spectrum transfer of a local oscillatior, zero beats, frequency markers were applied for measurements of frequencies and widths of NQR lines. All the applied methods displayed similar results at multiple measurements. In this case it becomes possible to reproduce the results of measurements which appeared to be close to 0.1 Δθ1/2(Δθ1/2-width of the spectral line on the half-height)
