Calculation of the Jahn-Teller coupling constants for Ni2+ and Ti3+ ions in crystals

Description
Using half-empiric approximations calculated are the Jahn-Teller coupling constants of the first and second orders for interactions of orbitally degenerated terms of Ti3+ and Ni2+ ions in the NaK2TiF6 and KNiF3 type crystals with tetragonal, trigonal and full-symmetric vibrations. Considered is the problem on the effect of configuration interaction and covalency on the value of the Jahn-Teller constants. Quantitative explanation of the absorption line splitting in NaK3TiF6 is presented
