L X-ray anisotropy and L3-subshell alignment in rare earths induced by 12 C ion impact
Description
The alignment parameter A20 of the L3-subshell of Ce, Nd, Eu, Dy, and Yb has been calculated by measuring the anisotropic emission of the Ll X-ray line induced by 12 C ion impact at 9 MeV bombardment energy. A new Coster-Kronig transition probabilities database is used, as well as more recent theories for ionization cross sections. These experimental results are in better agreement with the theory than previously published data. (Author)
