Distribution and the exchange kinetics of 238Pu administered intratracheally to rats

Description
Distribution and the kinetics of exchange of 238Pu solution has been studied after intratracheal administration to albino mongrel rats. The skeleton, liver and kidneys are the main organs of secondary deposition of the radionuclide (53.39 per cent, 8.26 per cent and 0.95 per cent of the total amount administered, respectively). Elimination of the radionuclide from lungs is descibed by four exponentials. The effective half-life of the slowly eliminated fraction (1.84 per cent) made 226 days
