Five-point tree amplitude for the heterotic string
Description
The five-point tree amplitude for four fermions and one gauge boson is calculated for the heterotic string. The cancellation of infrared divergences, which arise in taking the effective field theory limit of one-loop amplitudes, is discussed. Modular invariance of the one-loop amplitude for four massless gauge particles, calculated in the covariant formalism, is proved. (orig.)
