Mechanical properties of polycrystalline cerium from 78 to 525 K

  • 1. Iowa State Univ. of Science and Technology, Ames (USA)

Description

Flow-stress temperature dependence, strain-rate sensitivity, strain-hardening behaviour and ductility of cerium were determined from 78 to 525 K at strain rates of 0.005, 0.01, 0.1 and 1.0 min-1. Effects of the transformations between the allotropic forms α, β and γ on the deformation characteristics of cerium were examined. The results are presented and the effects of phase changes are discussed. (Auth.)
