Description

We studied the dependence of double ionization of H2 molecules on the carrier-envelope phase of a few-cycle laser pulse in the nonsequential double ionization regime. For short pulses at low intensities the strong dependence is due to the return energy of the rescattering electrons and the result may be used for determining the absolute value of the carrier envelope phase
