Description
The influence of chemical compositions and structure of the hydrocarbon molecules on the powder phase composition, particles microstructure and microhardness in the electrospark synthesis of tungsten carbides was studied. Powder phase composition is established to depend greatly on the mentioned factors. The largest percentage of β-WC yield was observed for powers synthesized in aromatic hydrocarbons having the cyclic molecular structure. The presence of nitrogen in organic liquid molecules reduces of the monocarbide in a powder
