Determination of Th, U, Pu, Am and Cm traces by the PERALS system
Description
Nowadays, the analysis of alpha emitters in environment is of growing interest. In particular, concentration standards of these elements in nature are lower and lower. It is then more and more difficult to measure them by an analytical method. A new nuclear spectrometry method (alpha liquid scintillation) is described. It is used here to measure uranium and thorium doped with americium in mineral waters. The obtained results are in good agreement with those already published on the subject
