A covariant action for the heterotic superstring with manifest spacetime supersymmetry and world-sheet superconformal invariance

Description
By using twistor-like fields similar to those of Sorokin, Tkach, Volkov, and Zheltukhin, the covariant Green-Schwarz action for the heterotic superstring is expressed in a form that manifestly displays both spacetime supersymmetry and N=1/2 world-sheet superconformal invariance. This new expression for the action may be useful in light-cone gauge spacetime supersymmetric calculations of heterotic superstring scattering amplitudes. (orig.)
