High-K isomerism associated with (νi13/2)2 intrinsic structures in A=180 region
- 1. Dept. of Physics, University of Surrey, Guildford (United Kingdom)
- 2. Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar (India)
Description
In the prolate deformed A=180 region the Fermi surface lies amidst high-Ω or- bits, and hence high-K isomers and band structures based on them are observed. Although K-forbidden according to the rotational model the observed decay of these high-K isomers to the ground band needs an improved theoretical understanding. The principal aim of the present study is to find the relative importance of the high- and low-K intrinsic structures, arising due to the coupling of two i13/2 neutrons, in understanding the K-forbidden transitions near the first band crossing in the A=180 mass region
