Progress and Challenges in Determining Reaction Rates for the s and p Processes

Description
Advances in abundance measurements in primitive meteorites and stars as well as progress in astrophysical models are driving the need for more as well as more accurate (n,γ) reaction-rate measurements. I will describe some recent successes as well as some remaining challenges in measuring the needed rates. In addition, I will briefly discuss how (n,α) measurements are helping to constrain (γ,α) rates for the p process, but at the same time have turned up some surprises
