K+ meson production in relativistic nuclear collisions

  • 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Atomnoj Ehnergii

Description

Production of positive kaons in nuclear collisions at energies ∼1-10 GeV/nucleon is studied within the 3-dimensional fluid dynamics and hadrochemical kinetics. Two limiting scenarios of kaon evoluation are considered: produced kaons are in a state of thermal- and mechanical equilibrium with the gas of nonstrange hadrons up to a certain freeze-out moment; kaons escape from the system immediately after the production. The model reproduces the experimental cross sections of Ne+NaF→K++X, Ne+Pb→K++X reactions at Elab=2.1 GeV/nucleon and momentum distribution of K+ in central Si+Au collisions at Elab=13.6 GeV/nucleon
