Influence of uniform pressure on the metal-dielectric phase transition in Vsub(0.986) Fesub(0.14)Osub(2)

Description

The results of investigation of the uniform pressure effect on the metal-dielectric phase transition (MDPT) in VO2 doped with iron are presented. A pressure increase results in a decrease of the temperature of the phase transition (PT) M2 → R with the slope dTsub(c)/dp=1.21+-0.04deg/kbar and in an increase of the T → M2 PT temperature with the slope dTsub(c)/dp=3.97+-0.04 deg/kbar. The ternary point is found on the phase diagram at pressure p approximately equal to 7.5 kbar. The T→R PT temperature does not depend on the pressure within the limits of experimental accuracy dTsub(c)/dp=0+-0.04 deg/kbar. The determination of the phase transition heats is made. The experimental results obtained are discussed within the framework of the two-band model of MDPT
